Computers
Computers play a part in all our lives so its great to learn how to use them properly and how to be safe when we go on the internet. Pennine Magpie has a modern I.T. suite with full broadband access and nine networked PC's. We learn about surfing the web, emailing, writing word documents and managing photographs. Students are closely supported at all times whilst using computers and the internet. We were overjoyed when the Barclays Bank trust donated nine new computers to us and staff from the Halifax branch decorated our classroom and computer suite - Thank you Barclays!
We use computers for fun and to carry out research to support our programmes, for example finding menu's to use in the cookery classes, or the words for songs to perform in the singing group. Students also produce the Magpie's Beak newsletter using publishing software.
