On Friday 6th November we held our first drama production. This play was to honour our heroes. Fifty -seven students took part in the show from making the props to the ration books. A saxophone solo accompanied the play and wartime food was served including corned beef, salmon paste sandwiches, tea loaf and jam tarts.

We all had such fun producing and presenting this show and met a lot of very nice people who also got involved. We had our hair styled on the day by students from North Halifax Skills centre who are all enrolled on a cousre accredited to Calderdale College. They had been practising for weeks on our hair and produced some marvellous hairsyles. Kathy Paige who owns The Prop Shop at Norhowram donated a lot of the costumes that we wore on the day, Sheila Woodhead also raided her wardrobes and loaned us costumes. Mr long played the saxaphone to open the show. We had a talk given by Russ Murray from the Royal British Legion, which made us all very aware of what soldiers have to live through in times of war. We also visited The Bankfield Museum and the Re-enactment of Home Front World War 2. All in all the skills we have learned have been huge and we would like to thank everyone for all their help and support.
