Scrap-for-Play

Once the face of Pennine Magpie, the Scrap for Play store provided a treasure trove of materials for use in creative arts projects. At it's peak the scrap store was accessed by 170 local organisations, mainly childrens nurseries and infant schools. The project served to embed concepts of environmental sustainability in the minds of young and old alike.

Materials from the scrap store could be used as widely as the imagination allowed.

The Scrap for Play project was discontinued in 2009 due to the floorspace being needed for the expansion of our social programme. All materials and equipment were donated to scrapstores around the UK. If you would like to learn more about scrapstores or to find those nearest to you go to our Links page for further information
