Carpet tile project
The carpet tile project, managed in partnership with Interface Carpets Plc. gained BiffaAward flagship funding and ran very successfully for four years, during its life diverting approximately 500 tonne of waste from the landfill stream.
Not just recycling, the project delivered high quality vocational training in partnership with the Calderdale College Skills for Working Life programme.
Operating from Unit20 Calderdale Business Park and utilising 10,000sq ft of space - it was quite a sizeable operation. The photograph above shows approximately half of the area taken up by the plant and machinery, the remainder being used for storage via a 4 high pallet racking system. The scheme donated more than 80% of its output to charitable projects in the UK and Europe.
